Happy Easter!

Did you know that in some circles there's a huge debate about Easter? Because its named after an ancient fertility goddess. Yeah, not what we celebrate!!! THANK YOU GOD FOR JESUS' DEATH AND RESURRECTION!

But I had to share:
While at a Bible Study I attend, I dropped Selah off for her class, and her teacher greeted her with:
"Hi Selah! What did you get in your Easter basket?"
Knowing Selah would have no clue, I told her we didn't have Easter baskets.
In shocked tones she asked:
"What DO you do for Easter?"
Um, go to church? Yes, that's why and what we celebrate! The Resurrection!

Now, this lady was just trying to connect with Selah, and I"m sure every other child probably had an Easter basket, but it was funny to me. I hope she didn't think I was rude!

  • At our church on "Easter" everyone kept saying "Happy Resurrection Day!" I thought that was a beautiful greeting.

Ella did get an "Easter" basket (her first one), but we just said it was to celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead!

(I must confess half the reason we had one was 'cause her mama had so much fun thinking what to put in it).
