devotions

We've started over the past months having a family devotion time. Its been wonderful! We've read through Genesis and are now into Exodus--good timing with all these Passover presentations!
The girls have learned a lot of new songs and verses too--the first hymn we learned was Amazing Grace, and now we continue to work on Holy, Holy, Holy.
They've also learned the Sh'ma and V'havta!
Our verse currently is Proverbs 18:6-7
A fool;s lips bring strife, and his mouth invites a beating
A fool's mouth is his undoing and his lips a snare to his soul.

We noticed a trend that the girls were being "silly" all the time, even when it was inappropriate especially when we were talking to them seriously. So now we talk about how its not okay to be foolish when others are serious, and that God wants us to be wise, not fools! God's Word does not return void--we have already seen great improvement in their ability to quit being foolish! Of course, we are going to be working on this and other character traits... FOREVER! As evidence in ourselves, that we are still learning! Ha.
