My little readers

I've been reading Farmer Boy to the girls at nap time, from Little House on the Prarie. They seem to be enjoying it! Part of it is to help them settle down, and part of it is pew-training. Its amazing how much better they are at sitting still for church or anything that requires sitting since we've been doing family devotions and this reading. And I hope they are also learning to pay attention to what they are hearing, especially since there are no pictures. We're reading Genesis as a family. I'm so glad they are hearing real Scripture read, and not just kid's Bibles, though we use though at bedtime. Selah can recite an amazing amount of verses already--we are working on Psalm 23--and Tiki knows most of them too! God's word will not return void--He promised--and He keeps His promises.

  • That's funny... in October we picked up Little House in the Big Woods as well and started reading it.... and we have started reading through Genesis together! We haven't really done too much with memorization yet though (except for a small bit of AWANAs)... kudos to you!
