toilet training...

Attempted to toilet train Selah today. Attempted being the key word. Didn't happen. Boo hoo. Toilet Training in Less Than a Day... worked for my parents, but apparently Selah is not quite ready. She knows all the steps of pottying now, but didn't want to go and sit there. Too fidgity, and too interested in talking and doing other things. And did I mention she is a bit strong willed? Ah, well. Another day, right?

Baked Selah's birthday cake tonight. I am attempting to make it in a fun design... I'll post a picture when its done and frosted and whatnot. I can't believe my little girl is going to be 2!!! But she is doing so many things! Let's see... she sings now... and no longer wants to sit in her booster, but in a big chair... still not eating the way I'd like but thats mostly my fault for not providing enough good, nutritious food (inside Gittlen joke). She has started doing pretend play! Talking on the phone, usually to Daddy or Grandparents, or Aunt Melanie, and cooking fake food on her fake kitchen. Fun to see. Also enjoys sitting on her sister if she can get away with it (can't). And helping Tikvah walk--equals pulliing her hands while Tikvah takes one step and then a nose dive. But they both seem to enjoy it. Otherwise Tikvah is a crawling superbaby. When Tikvah does something wrong and we tell her "no", she immediately gives us a super big smile, as if to say "you wouldn't be telling no to your sweet innocent baby, would you?" Don't you love kids? Tikvah still enjoys sticking everything possible into her mouth. She still has three teeth, and I don't think she's going to get the fourth. It looks like it should come in where the cleft is. I guess the doctors will probably do an x-ray sometime.

Pray for me! I've been getting frustrated lately a lot and just wanting a break. My poor sweet kids and husband!
