Ingathering endeth
Today was a comp day for Micha and we went to bed so early last night, but are still kinda pooped! It was a good Ingathering, and things went smoothly! Our poor kids stayed up about 2 hours later than usual at night, so Selah tried to make up for it today with a 3 hour nap. Amazing. Micha made a great Walnut Man, and 2 deserving kids found the Golden Walnuts.
The day before Ingathering we spent the day at Shriner's Hospital, where yes we were truly accepted, and at the end they told us someone will call to set up a appointment for Tiki's next surgery! Yay! By the way, she was so mad this morning she crawled about 2 feet. When she's happy she doesn't make it too far, but with anger as a motivator she gets moving! Thats my kid. We put her in high chairs at meals at Ingathering. How crazy is it that both our kids can sit in a high chair?
It was cool at Shriners to meet other families who have cleft-affected kids and almost all the doctors and other 'professionals' were super nice to us and our kids. Tikvah & Selah and for that matter their parents too were not super healthy, but we tried calling them and they said come anyway (but at the end of the day we were told we should have rescheduled. aargh).
So, the staff for the kids programs for Ingathering were excellent! Half the elementary program were Micha's family, and that was fun. The Cohens are taking over!! broo ha ha ha. Preschool went well. We had 7 kids in there, once they all arrived, and they truly learned their memory verse and learned about Joshua and that we need to choose to obey and follow God. Cool!
I feel like there should be a ton to write about Ingathering, but honestly I'm so exhausted still and just happy thats its done for another year, that I can't seem to remember anything! I've got lots of plans on how to improve things, and hopefully can track down ideas from the staff as well. This has really been my baby this year (along with the two live ones), and I enjoyed it so much! I like organizing. Of course, sometimes there is moaning and gnashing of teeth, but it comes with the territory.
