C.S. Lewis-- a la Narnia
We got to go to the Land of Spare Oom, and War Drobe.
Isn't this wardrobe beautiful? C.S. Lewis' grandfather built the entire thing, down to the nails and hinges, not to mention the beautiful carvings!!! It was the inspiration for the wardrobe in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and can be seen at Wheaton College at the Wade Center. I love how one door is cracked open and a fur coat can be seen in the crack!!!
A map of Narnia -- by the original illustrator Pauline Baynes
A model of Smaug from the Hobbit
If you get a chance to visit the Wade Center, they have the desk on which JRR Tolkien wrote his famous trilogy Lord of the Rings, as well as other things. Worth doing, and glad we got to go!
