Ingathering 2011

We had 6 families from Olive Tree come to Ingathering this year--fun fun. Almost all the kids are from Olive Tree, which makes for some nice camaraderie. We actually had kids tables at every meal, and the parents just tried to sit close enough to help those who needed help. What a change!!

The topic this year was A Heart After God, and came from the life of King David. One session the kids wrote a psalm to the tune of Shabbat Shalom, and the girls are still asking to sing it!!

Here's what they wrote:
I do not like/ People to leave/ Because it makes me feel/ Lonely and sad.
But I am Thankful/ That God won't leave/ Because He loves us/ and He died for me.

God make us Joyful/ We want to praise You/ We dance for joy/ We pray to you.
Make our hearts/ not be like stone,/ We love you God/ You won't leave us alone.
God is powerful/ God is awesome/ God loves us and/ He died for us. Hey!

Practicing the song...

Of course the high point of the weekend was Walnut Man and the Walnut Hunt. He leaves walnuts around and the kids find them and can exchange them for candy after meals.

The Pied Piper... I mean Walnut Man.... leading the kids to the Walnut Hunt
