Modus Operandi
I've started the girls doing some chores--they get to trade off each day who does either dishes (plasticware while I do the breakables) or vacuuming. We have this dustbuster type vacuum that plugs into the wall, and is just as loud as a regular vacuum, but they don't seem to mind. Yay! My floors are a little cleaner! I can't say they get them very vacuumed, although Selah does a fairly thorough job, but some is better than nothing, right? Go babies go! Of course, I am the one who needs to stay on top of this if I want the girls to do so!
Book you should read: 10 P's in a Pod, by Arnold Pent. Its about a family with 8 kids, in the 40's/50's, who traveled around sharing God stuff--its sounds like more revival stuff at churches, but I've only read the first chapter so far. They would recite Scripture outloud for 1/2 hour after every meal! Plus family devotions time, and personal Bible study too. That is "letting the word of Christ dwell in you richly"!!! (quote from the book) Anyways, I can already tell that this is a winner. I want this book (I got it via interlibrary loan)!
Tikvah is doing a super job with potty training--ever since we kept her in undies at night! I guess the switching back and forth was holding her back--she's still wet at night sometimes (we've been doing this all of maybe 2 weeks), but doing much better in the day, and staying dry all night too quite often! The first few nights she woke up at 4:30 crying to go to the potty!
I'm working on planning some menu options for our mxmk reunion this december! Anyone have any dinner ideas for me that can be cooked for a lot of people, but is also easy and cheap and won't taste industrialized? :) I know, its a hard order. Send me ideas!

Well, I helped make a ton of chicken pesto pasta for a wedding rehearsal, and that worked out great. Only somewhat expensive ingredient was the pine nuts... Add a good salad to that, and you're basically set.
