Tikvah's Surgery

Surgery is scheduled for June 22! Please pray for the surgeon, for our calm, and for Selah as we will be with Tikvah at the hospital. HUGE thanks to Aunt Christine for coming to watch Selah while we're gone! You know, cleft is fascinating. Its amazing how God has created our bodies so that they heal.

The surgeon cuts the edges of her lip open, then sews the inner lip, the muscles, and the outer lip together in separate sewings. She also snakes her little scissors up to break up the cartiladge of her nose so she can reconstruct that nose. She uses extra lip skin to create the base of Tikvah's nostril. Now, wasn't that fun? I love visuals. :)

The surgery will take about 75 minutes, and is done first thing in the morning, probably about 7:30-8am. Then, if she is doing well by night, she can come home with us! Yay! If not, we can stay with her too.
